WL18xx: set txpower via iw command

Hi,

currently we trying to reduce the Tx power of the wl18xx to comply the max. EIRP using our Antennas.

It seems that the normal iw command will not work at all (e.g. iw phy phy0 set txpower limit 500) .
Is there any way to reduce the Tx Power with common upstream tools during running the normal AP mode?

And yes we have also testet firmware version 8.9.0.0.81

Hi ,

iw set tx power command is not supported by WiLink8. Tx power is set by WiLink8 firmware .

You mean I have to manipulate something like the PerChanPwrLimitArr11ABG or PerChanBoMode11ABG parameter?

2. I saw also a function which is called

wl1271_acx_tx_power()

in drivers/net/wireless/ti/wlcore/acx.c

Does this function not reduce the txpowe for the wl18xx?

Hi ,

Yes, tx power limits are defined in the INI file. It has values that define max tx power for different bands/modulation - but as a user you won't be able to specify tx power during run time.
