CC3200: Is is possible to use aws freertos on CC3200 as CC3220SF?

Hello Team,

My client requested to port CC3220sf AWS Freertos to CC3200 supportable. I have already gone through github link (https://github.com/aws/amazon-freertos) of aws freertos and supported hardware for TI is CC3220SF. We have already tested CC3220SF with aws freertos and that works fine.

Is it possible to run aws freertos on CC3200?

if yes, can you guide me where to start?

There is no technical aspect that prevents the AWS FreeRTOS from using CC3200, i.e. i don't think they are (currently) building on the security features or other improvements of CC3220, but this needs to be verified (maybe in their forum) and may be changed in the future (mainly due to security concerns).

However, such port will not be trivial since the SDKs and the commands of CC3220 and CC3200 are not compatible.

We can't support this port and recommend moving to CC3220 if the AWS FreeRTOS is a requirement.

The CC3220 port was done by an AWS team, and they are supporting it through their forum.

There was an AWS C SDK plugin that was based on the CC3200 SDK (it is an older AWS framework - not the FreeRTOS one).

You can start with this one (but it is not the AWS FreeRTOS and I'm not sure about AWS plans to maintain it). See details in: https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AWS_IoT_Development

Hello Kobi,

I have followed given link https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AWS_IoT_Development and downloaded v-2.1.0 from https://git.ti.com/cgit/iotdev/aws-iot-device-sdk-embedded-c.

I tried to go through the Readme.md of this sdk but nothing related to CC3200.

After searching related to CC3200 and aws IoT, got one link https://e2e.ti.com/support/legacy_forums/embedded/tirtos/f/355/p/502317/1855585#1855585 but SDK is different compared to aws-iot-device-sdk-embedded-c v-2.1.0.

Previous SDK contains (.../aws/sample_apps/subscribe_publish_sample/platlform_tirtos/cc3200) platform dependent example but this directory missing in current SDK which are available on this link https://git.ti.com/cgit/iotdev/aws-iot-device-sdk-embedded-c.

Till now, i have no idea how to build example code or library of aws-iot-device-sdk-embedded-c compatible to TI board. Please help me, how to build example and use it in TI CC3200.

you should use v2.1.0-ti branch (it wasn't there before, but was uploaded today).

You should find a readme file with instructions inside.
