WL1837MOD: Certified PIFA antennas

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Hi

I found a list of certified antennas at the web link below.

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xxMOD_Regulatory_Product_Certification

My customer cannot use the chip antenna due to the structure of the device. So I want to use an FPC antenna.

he would like to use 001-0016 that made in LSR. However, he couldn't find a domestic retailer.

If you have any other certified PIFA antennas, please let me know.

thanks.

  • Hi Robin,

The list of antennas that you see are what we have certified for. Depending on the region, you may still be able to use a different PIFA antenna. IF this is for FCC/Canada/CE certification they you can use the following rules to use a different PIFA antenna:

    1) The type of antenna must be one that is listed on our current certification

    2) The max gain must be less than or equal to the max gain listed on our certification.

    3) the out of band performance must be similar. In this case since you need to do EMC/EMI at the product level, this is usually covered.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Riz
