Does WiLink8 support WiFi in adhoc mode

I am looking for creating a MANET using WiLink8 chips and would like to know the level of support available for the same. I want this for the purpose of using the BATMAN adhoc networking using WiLink8 chips

We are not familiar with BATMAN routing protocol .
