WL1837MOD: Using WiFi (SDIO) & BT (UART) at the same time

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Hello

We are using TI WiFi/Bt module WL1837MODGIMOC with a host CPU running Linux.

We have the Host CPU connected up to SDIO for WiFi and UART for BT. We are using two antenna's.

The question is, can we communicate with a external WiFi and a BT device at the same time? In other words can the SDIO and UART busses be running concurrently and the WL1837MOD can handle the data flow?

  • The antenna usage is TDM between Wi-Fi and BT and handled automatically by the controller's FW.  So, yes the coex mechanism is built-in and the two interfaces  (SDIO and UART) are assumed to be up and running concurrently.
