Hello Team,

I have a CC3235SF custom board and was trying to import and run httpget SDK example but all is see is nothing either on Serial port of Tera Term or CCS Terminal.

I have XDS110 debug probe. As the board is custom board, I did verify the schematics with TI Evaluation board and everything seems to be alright.

I did try other SDK examples and I see no output on the Serial port. Attached are pics related to setting up of connection with Tera Term.

Flashing has been successfully done using documentation from Uniflash.

Any help would be much apprieciated.

Hi Vignesh,

Try running out of box example and see if you get terminal output. Can you confirm what pins you have jumpered over to the XDS110?

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried changing the COM port 9 {XDS110 Class application - which should be Generally used} to 4 (USB Serial - Board connected to PC via USB) and I can see the output on the Terminal. (It's a bit wierd though)

So does this mean that XDS110 probe is not working?

I wouldn't say that as well, because I can compile and debug successfully in CCS.

Attached, you will find the connection between TI- 14 Pin JTAG to my custom Board.

Hi Vignesh,

Do you have connected UART RX, TX lines from your board to XDS-110. If not, you cannot expect any UART log via virtual COM port from XDS-110.

Thanks for your information.

Yes, Indeed PIN's 1 and 2 which are UART1_Tx & UART1_Rx connected respectively with the JTAG.

Hi Vignesh,

Sorry I don't understand what do you mean that you have connected UART to JTAG. UART and JTAG are completely different interfaces.Can you provide photos how you have connected your board with LaunchPad.

XDS-110 debugger have two interfaces. UART and JTAG/SWD. You need to connect both them. By default at examples are used for UART log pins 55 (GPIO1) and 57 (GPIO2). If you want to use pins 1 (GPIO10), 2 (GPIO11) for UART you need reconfigure your Sysconfig settings.

When you connect pins 1 (GPIO10), 2 (GPIO11) via external UART to USB converter do you see output of log?

Hi Jan,

The output I get on serial port is from the USB port which is connected from board to PC.

I haven't made any changes with the UART SDK example, I just complied it and debugged. Changed the settings on Tera Term according to the documentation.

I can see 3 COM ports in my device Manager. COM 9 and 10 are UART and Auxillary. COM4 is serial USB.

As I have attached a picture above, is the PIN connection for CC3235SF JTAG Interface.

Anyways, I have attached pictures of my custom board Schematics and board with JTAG connections.

Hi,

According image above you have connected JTAG only. You haven't connected UART to XDS-110. Because UART is at AUX connector (board).

Hi,

Yes, 4 lines and power supply connected to JTAG connector. (TDI, TDO, TCK and TMS).

So how do I connect UART to XDS110?
