WL1837MOD: Configuration of supporting only 802.11g/802.11n

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Customer knows that WL1837MOD is supporting Support of IEEE Std 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n.

For one specific system (including WL1837MOD), customer would like to enable "802.11g and 802.11n" (Disabling 802.11a/11b). I'm not sure if it is possible, however, customer would like to know how customer should configure this/what files customer should modify. Can I have your Expert's advice/comments on this, please?

Thanks for reply. Customer is developing two system. One system is STA, other system is AP, therefore, it will be appreciated if you will share those configuration on both modes.

Hi Miyazaki san,

I am not sure if there is a way to disable the bands in STA mode. STA mode is designed to operate with any AP that supports a/b/g/n bands. This request makes more sense from a AP mode. In AP mode the desired band of operation can be selected using the hw_mode option from hostapd.conf file

# Operation mode (a = IEEE 802.11a, b = IEEE 802.11b, g = IEEE 802.11g,

# Default: IEEE 802.11b
hw_mode=g

The selections can be made as per the options above
