WL1837MOD: Inquiries about SPPLE PM Demo App

Hi Experts,

Since customer was looking for the information about "SPPLE PM Demo App", I shared the following information as pdf-file with customer.

According to above URL, Bluetooth SPPLE is a simple Client-Server connection process and this explains how to use LinuxSPPLE_PM to connect to a CC256x board.

This means, WL1837MOD is BEL central device and CC256x is working as peripheral device.

1. Customer also plans to use WL1837MOD as central device at this time. however, since customer does not have CC256x board. Therefore, they are asking if TI has the iOS/Android application which is working as peripheral device for this demonstration. Can I have your Expert's advice/comments on this, please? It will be appreciated if you will share other solution for this.

2. Also, customer would like to know if WL1837MOD is working as SPPLE-peripheral-device. it seems there is " StartAdviertising " in command-Options. Is this available? It so, there is possibility that customer is evaluating SPPLE function with two WL1837MOD boards.

Can I have your comments on this, please?

Hi Miyazaki-san,

To answer your questions:

1. I do not know of a mobile app that can work as a SPPLE server/central device. I know BLE Scanner” application as well as the “NRF connect" app work as SPPLE client/peripheral, but they cannot do the opposite role.

2. The Bluetopia Platform manager does not support SPPLE server (peripheral device functionality) out of the box. That being said, it is possible to use that role, just without the platform manager.
