WL1837MOD: HW evaluation and R8.8 Linux SW?

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Team,

The getting started guide has been updated and point to the latest Wifi (R8.8) and BT SW:
https://www.ti.com/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi/overview.html#gettingstarted
See page 3 section 3 of : WiLink 8 Getting started guide - SRWU570

-The TIDC-WL1837MOD-AUDIO-MULTIROOM-CAPE + Beaglebone black is not listed as a possible HW board combination for evaluation. Any reason why?
-Wouldn't it be the cheapest/simplest option to evaluate using the TI Linux SDK SW directly?

-Or is it possible to use Beaglebone black + BBONE-GATEWAY-CAPE (WL183xMOD from Element14) with TI Linux SDK rather than the Debian distribution provided by default?

If this HW combination is used are Wifi and BT both supported by default on the debian distribution ?
If not any additional instruction to install the latest R8.8 and TI BT support?

Thanks in advance!

You can still use https://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-79264/l/wireless-connectivity-cape-for-beaglebone-black  + https://beagleboard.org/black  with the latest R8.8 release. Please refer to R8.8 build user guide at ttps://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru561a/swru561a.pdf?ts=1614975145160   under section 3.4 step #7 for adding beaglebone DTB file for operation. The release is supported with TI SDK and not Debian distribution.

Yes. This is possible. Please refer to the R8.8 build user guide.
