Hello.

Whether this WiFi chip support 802.11k?

If not, do you have solution to support it?

What we are interested for 802.11k is mainly in roaming feature, so if this WiFi chip not support 802.11k, can it support roaming?

When CC3235 connect to AP1, and move from AP1 to AP2, the signal strength for AP1 is decrease and AP2 is increase. The CC3235 will disconnet first due to the signal strength is too weak of AP1, then start connect to AP2, or it can manage an auto switch connection from AP1 to AP2 without disconnect to the server? The "auto switch connection" is managed by CC3235 Network processor or need the user's appliaction to handle it?

Please detail about the threshold of "signal strength for AP1" and "signal strength for AP2" to trigger an "auto switch connection". How long will it take to complete the "auto switch connection"?

Hi,

The CC3235 does not support 802.11k. It does however feature several custom roaming options that can suit your purposes.

Specifically, the Triggered Roaming feature as described in section 4.3.9 of the NWP user's guide fits your use case: www.ti.com/lit/swru455

That option will allow you to set an RSSI level at which the device will look for other APs with the same SSID to switch to. This switch will be handled automatically by the CC3235 NWP, and you will get an async event informing you that the switch occurred.
