LAUNCHCC3220MODASF: How to change output folder "src" generated by xdc tools

Part Number: LAUNCHCC3220MODASF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220SF

Hi,

how do i change the output folder for the src files generated by xdc tools within my project ?

BR,

Arnaud

  • Hi Arnaud,

Are you using one of the SDK demos, or are you using your own custom project?

By default, CCS projects generate the makefile automatically for you, and I suspect that is where the output directory is set. Have you checked the generated source files to see if the output is set that way?

    Regards,
    Michael

  • Hmm,

i am using a custom project based on one of the examples(tcpecho_CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs).

I am taking about the source folder generated by xcd tools. I want to change that output path.

In makefile.libs is the following content:

    #
    # This file was generated based on the configuration script:
    # D:\wifi_ccs10\wifi_firmware\tirtos.cfg
    #
    # This makefile may be included in other makefiles that need to build
    # the libraries containing the compiled source files generated as
    # part of the configuration step.

    #
    # ======== GEN_SRC_DIR =========
    # The path to the sources generated during configuration
    #
    # This path must be either absolute or relative to the build directory.
    #
    # The absolute path to the generated source directory (at the time the
    # sources were generated) is:
    # D:\wifi_ccs10\wifi_firmware\src
    #
    GEN_SRC_DIR ?= ../src

    ifeq (,$(wildcard $(GEN_SRC_DIR)))
$(error "ERROR: GEN_SRC_DIR must be set to the directory containing the generated sources")
    endif

I want to change GEN_SRC_DIR. Because GEN_SRC_DIR is generated through xcd tools i want to pass another path to it. A change in this file won't succedd because it is autogenerated every time i run the build. I have attached my cfg and project files.

    BR,

    Arnaud

  • Hi Arnaud,

I think these steps will help:

    https://e2e.ti.com/support/legacy_forums/embedded/tirtos/f/ti-rtos-forum-read-only-archived/493101/output-directory-hard-coded-in-xs-configuro

Assuming you want to change the output dir of the TIRTOS files from /src to something else, that modification of the release.cfg will work.

    Regards,

    Michael
