CC3200: Device disconnects after AP changes channel and takes a long time to reconnect

Part Number: CC3200

One of our customers noticed that several devices were taking a very long time to reconnect after the AP changes channel.

Usually the devices reconnect to the same or to a different AP within seconds but in some cases it takes quite a while.

We were able to capture the attached logs.

Could you please check them and provide some insight on why this happens?

Thank youNSC8B.zipNSC8C.zip

  • Hi Georgios,

Unfortunately, it looks like your NWP logs are in the wrong format. Please review the Capture NWP Logs section of the Programmer's Guide. If you are using TeraTerm to collect logs, be sure the Binary option is unchecked.

What servicepack version is flashed? Have you tested yet with the latest CC3200 servicepack 1.0.1.15-2.13.0.2?

    Best regards,

    Sarah

  • Hi.

Actually we use an embedded device to capture the logs.

Is there anything more that you can make out of them as to what might be "wrong format"? Are they breaking up or they are completely unreadable?

    Thank you

    GZ

  • Hi Georgios,

I believe Sarah meant "binary option is checked" above.
It is not clear what the specific difference from the supported capture method is just from looking at the files. The content of the files generally looks like binary data (which is expected), but the data does not match the expected output for our logs and when parsed does not give any valid traces.

They need to be captured as described in Chapter 19 of the Network Processor user guide: www.ti.com/lit/swru368

    Best Regards,
