I am planning to use CC2520 in my design with MCU with ARM core and USB 2.0 support, I have following queries

1. Is there any suitable ARM core from TI which can be used with GNU development tools

2. Can I get compatible Z-Stack with selected MCU (ARM core)

Please suggest if there is any alternate design

Hello,

For the USB MCU, I would recommend looking at the MSP432E401Y. For the Z-stack I will ask my colleague to comment.

I recommend using the CC2538 (legacy device but with USB support) or SimpleLink CC2652R (SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK quarterly updates) for Z-Stack development.

Thanks Chris and Ryan, but I want to expand my design in future for other wireless protocols and don't want to design HW again and again. So plan is to get ARM core (with USB 2.0) + transceiver and protocol stacks. CC2538 is good but its old solution and flash size is limited to 512KB

Please suggest

The CC1352P has a sub-1 and 2.4 GHz radio but 352 kB of memory, any of the options mentioned are preferred in regards to protocol stack development as compared to the CC2520.

But what about below solution, will it work?

MSP432E401Y + CC2520 + Z-Stack

Do I get support from TI? like all libs and source code?

Hi Dattatray,

This solution could work in theory but you would not receive any library or source code support from TI regarding Z-Stack for the MSP432E401Y. The only Z-Stack CC2520 transceiver solutions were release with Z-Stack Energy 1.x or Z-Stack 2.x which are before the MSP432 product's existence and are no longer maintained on Z-STACK-ARCHIVE.
