How Thread devices will communicate with the cloud or mobile devices?

Hello Community,

As we know the thread devices are able to communicate devices would be able to talk to each other.

& Unlike Zigbee and Z-Wave, Thread doesn't require a smart hub to connect them.

I would like to know,

How the Thread device will get connected to the cloud or mobile devices?

Basically, Thread device would connect to cloud or mobile devices through Thread Border Router.

Hi,

Since Thread devices support native IPv6 addressing, you would not need to create a "custom" hub to interface with IP (e.g. cloud).
Because Thread is utilizing an 802.15.4 radio, to communicate with IP networks of other technologies (such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, ...), a Thread Border router is required.

Thread does not define the application layer, thus you are free to use any application layer to interface with cloud, etc.
