CC1352P: Max vibration characteristics

We are using a CC1352P device in a design. When subjecting the design to standard shake & bake tests, the processor 48MHz external oscillator failed, and it relied purely on its internal 48Mhz RC oscillator.

The board has been checked for cracks, etc etc, and crystal changed, all to no effect.

The device is to be shipped to another office which has an x-ray machine, to check for broken bond wires etc internal to CC1352P packaging.

But in the mean time, is there any vibrational characteristics for this device? None can be found in data sheets etc.

It was subjected to +/- 26g in part of the testing.

Hi Gary,

Vibration is not really something that is tested in qualification for general commercial / industrial QFN packaging.

Which standard bake & shake tests are you referring to?

Of the tests which were performed, one of two of them cause the problem:

* T-Shock - +85C and -40C temperatures, alternatively, for several hours

* Vibration - up to 26g on a random shaker on all 3 axes, for 24 hours

We are still trying to determine which of these two tests kills the CC1352P, from log file analysis. We now have 3 dead devices, all with the same non-functioning external 48MHz oscillator.
