CC2531: Zigbee and WiFi interference

Part Number: CC2531
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2538
Hello everyone, I am trying to evaluate how is the interference between wifi and zigbee, I know that both work in 2.4Ghz. I would like to do a "ping" between the controller (cc2531 working with the Zigbee2Mqtt project) and a device by pinging to know what time, received and lost packets to study how wifi interferes in zigbee communication. I don't know if there is any mechanism to do this or is there another way to do it. do you have any ideas to do this?

Thanks!

BR.
  • As I know, TI used to have application note for Wifi Coexistence on WL18xx and CC2538 but it has been deprecated and the application note is not available for now. You can try to Google "zigbee wifi coexistence" to get some information.

  • There is a small description of operation in SWRU432 but as YK stated the firmware for this use case has not been maintained.  I recommend you consider a SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK device as Zigbee + WiFi Coex operation will be supported in July 2021.  That being said, it will not add MT API commands to control Coexistence pins or alert a ZNP's host to whether Zigbee communication failed due to high WiFi traffic.
