LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: Confusion in launchpad product description

Good evening

So this is my last question in a while until my launchpads arrive (o;

When I just read read through the Launchxl-CC26X2R-1 description again, I am confused by this sentence:

"...This LaunchPad is used to speed development with the SimpleLink Bluetooth® low energy CC2642R wireless MCU and the SimpleLink Multi-Standard CC2652R wireless MCU..."

On the picture I can see that it contains a CC2652 chip....so why is this launchpad described to be used for the CC2642 and the CC2652?

Hi Richard,

The CC2652R can be used to develop code for the CC2642R. The CC2642R is a BLE only device, whereas the CC2652R can run BLE as well as Zigbee/Proprietary/15.4...etc. Since the CC2652R has all the functionality of the CC2642R, you can use it to develop BLE code for both devices.

So that means the Launchxl-CC26X2R1 contains the CC2652 chip to support development for both chips then.....

I'm relieved then that I ordered the right kits ;-)
