CC2651R3: What is in ROM of CC2651R3？

CC2651R3's ROM is 40KB, But CC2652R1's is 256KB. This ROM can't be programmed by customer, what is it for?

CC2651R3's ROM has been reduced to 40KB, what function has been castrated?

In addition to Clement's answer, please refer to the Hardware Architecture section of the Z-Stack User's Guide to further understand the features and peripherals with have been removed or modified.

Hi,

On CC2651R3 devices, the ROM only contains the boot-code. It is used to boot the device, run some trims and make the device ready to execute some code.

Other devices (like CC2652R1), the ROM also contains some pieces of TIRTOS and of the BLE Stack. On CC2651R3 devices, this has been moved to flash. The tool chain will make sure the proper pieces of software are link into the image flashed.

Yes, I have proved it. Same source code of coordinator on CC2652R1 will generate 198KB of firmware file, but on CC2651R3 will generate 208KB of firmware file.
