CC2533: Difference between CC2533 and CC2530 RF core

Hi,

We are using CC2533F64 and are interested in to change to CC2530. We have a question relating to RF conformity. Do they have the same RF core in these two chips? Although there seem to be slight diffence in output power according to datasheets.

Should we do RF conformity tests again if we change the chip?

As I know, they are basically using the same RF core and I think you still have to do RF conformity tests again if you change the chip.

Hi Ilari,

These have same RF core. As mentioned by YK, you will require RF conformity tests done again.

Be aware that some peripheral are not common.

I think saying that they have the same "rf core" is misleading. There are differences in the PA and also some other modules if I remember correctly (compare the registers). This is why RF conformity testing is mandatory when changing from CC2530 to CC2533.

And yes, there is differences in some modules and connection of pins 1 to 4.
