CC2531: How to connect end device

Hi all,

I followed this example: https://sunmaysky.blogspot.com/2017/02/use-ztool-z-stack-30-znp-to-set-up.html and have successfully made one of my CC2531 a Coordinator and another CC2531 a router.
I then unplug the Coordinator and use the CC debugger to flash a Wireshark Zigbee Packet Sniffing hex file into it and it is able to sniff IEEE802.15.4 as well as Zigbee packets. However, I have been using Z-tool 2.0 with the Router CC2531 to do some configurations to allow my XB3-24Z8UM (A Zigbee chip) to join the network and it is to no avail.
Configurations were done through Z-tool 2.0 with commands like ZDO_MGMT_PERMIT_JOIN_REQ
ZB_FIND_DEVICE_REQ and ZB_PERMIT_JOINING_REQ

I am able to receive Beacon Requests and a Beacon is being sent from the Router CC2531, yet I am unable to connect my XB3-24Z8UM to the Zigbee Network.
Any advice?

Can you provide sniffer log instead of screenshot?

Shouldn't Ztool+CC2531 act as coordinator instead of router to form Zigbee network to allow your XD3-24Z8UM to join?

Hi YiKai,
I am unable to attach the sniffer log directly hence the zipped fille.
As for the Ztool+cc2531 acting as coordinator I will get right to it. Thank you!

According to you sniffer log, there is no coordinator. You should setup Ztool+CC2531 act as coordinator instead of router to form Zigbee network and enable permit join to allow your XD3-24Z8UM to join.

Hi,
I have set the CC2531 as a Coordinator this time round and let the other one be the Packet Sniffer. However, the result from the first sniffer log and this new sniffer log seems to be the same. Could there be something wrong with my configuration or any potential hardware issue?

In your latest sniffer log, there is coordinator and it enables permit join. You should check if you do factory reset properly to your XD3-24Z8UM to join this network.

Hi YiKai,

Can I assume that after my XB3-24Z8UM is factory resetted, it will join the network if the Coordinator permits joining?

Yes,XB3-24Z8UM should join the network if you do factory reset to XB3-24Z8UM and the Coordinator permits joining
