Device does not announce when it leaves

Hello all,

I have a Zigbee network with a ZC, few ZR and few ZED. I have the routers connected to the coordinator and and the all the ZEDs are connected to the routers and not directly yo the coordinator.

My problem is, when any device joins the network, I get  ZDO_END_DEVICE_ANNCE_IND on my Z-Tool interface, but when a ZED connected to any ZR leaves, I do not get ZDO_LEAVE_IND on my coordinator.

Thanks & Regards

P

  • It’s correct that ZDO_LEAVE_IND would only receive on parent node.

  • Hello Prasoon,

Leave messages are broadcast with a radius of one, so if the ZC is not within radio range of the ZED then it will not receive the message.  The ZR parent should send an Update Device Request to the ZC trust center alerting it that the ZED has left, and ZDSecMgrUpdateDeviceInd will erase the TCLK entry stored in NV without notifying the MT layer.  Thus you would have to modify the ZC's application code or occasionally monitor the ZCD_NV_EX_TCLK_TABLE NV region to receive updates on ZEDs which have left but are not directly associated to the ZC.

    Regards,
    Ryan
