LP-CC2652RB: zclConfigInit() fails after renaming Application Name in sysconfig

Part Number: LP-CC2652RB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

I have started with the Sample App and made sure it initializes fine. Then I went into Z-Stack settings and changed the Application Name under Zigbee Application Endpoint. A build attempt reveals one missing symbol in sampleapp.c, sampleApp_init( void) line 593 at zclport_registerZclHandleExternal() where I renamed SAMPLEAPP_ENDPOINT according to my rename.

If I now debug the application the debugger fails silently at zclConfigInit(); Apparently I am missing one step to properly rename the Application Name, but I fail to find documentation that would help me understand what's wrong.

Designing a Custom Zigbee 3.0-Certifiable Product Using SampleApp guide mentions you can rename the app at this location but decides not to do it. I could not find any other resources on how to properly rename an application, also with the files.

any help?

  • Hi makerwolf,

Thank you for bringing up this behavior, which I've replicated from my end.  The issue is that sampleapp.c still uses the sampleApp_serviceTaskId nomenclature whereas zcl_config.c adopts <appname>_serviceTaskId which causes zclConfigInit to fail at zclport_registerEndpoint.  I will contact Software Development to resolve this issue in an upcoming SDK update, meanwhile you can either:

    • Replace all instances of sampleApp_serviceTaskId with <appname>_serviceTaskId inside sampleapp.c
    • Modify <sdk directory>\source\ti\zstack\.meta\templates\zcl_config.c.xdt to replace appNameCamel + "_serviceTaskId with "sampleApp_serviceTaskId

    Regards,
    Ryan
