Hi,

The title says it all, but let me be more precise.

I created a network on channel 11 and devices where quick to join the network given a certain good range we will call RANGE1.

But once i recreated it on channel 16 The devices had to be close to the coordinator for it to join the new network. RANGE2 = RANGE1 / 3

Does the range of the zigbee network depends on the channel or it is just a casuality? Given this happened more than once I have my doubts about the casuality of this.

EDIT: When device has to join network it has to be close, but once joined it works normally (RANGE1)

If you get poor RF performance on other channel, you might need to check your antenna and related RF matching circuit.

But why the first time i join it it works on a good range, but if i make it re-join the network it has to be close

If this only happens sometimes, it might be caused by interference and there’s not much you can improve for such case.

I changed dongle and everything works perfectly, but the old one, once I remove the batteries from the ZED and put them back on it doesn't join the network unless i'm close to the dongle. Which doesn't happen with the new dongle.

I would say this is hardware issue on this specific dongle. If you buy it from 3rd party, you should contact manufacturer to verify it.

Hi Luca,

It appears you are having some reset issues and thus may want to confirm that the maximum TX power is still being used after reset. Otherwise, YK has given some feasible considerations such as channel interference or a hardware defect.

Getting the TX power is not an available MT command, but you can use SYS_SET_TX_POWER to determine a value outside of the SysConfig setting. Otherwise, the Z-Stack API supports Zstackapi_sysSetTxPowerReq.
