Change Channel During RunTime

I've ran  a SYS_OSAL_NV_READ for parameter ID=0x0084 and the result is the following ("fe 6 61 8 0 4 0 0 10 0 7b")

• len=4
• value=0x00100000 which is channel 20.

but when I restore the network and start sniffing I can only sniff the old Channel and not the new one.

You can try to change channel settings in _NIB but it’s weird for me why you want to do this. Personally, I don’t recommend you to do so.

Well, ZigBee2MQTT leave the option to the user to change channel. I want to incorporate that in my product as well.

I don’t think ZigBee2MQTT changes channel in run time. I suppose it select channel to form new network.

There is no need to delete paired devices when coordinator forms new network. You can set BDB primary and secondary to specific channel you want to form new network.

I have replied in my first report that you can try to revise channel in _NIB and restart coordinator to change channel.

What does _NIB mean? Can I use Monitor And Test API to change it?

_NIB is a data structure in Z-Stack to keep network information. ZCD_NV_NIB is 0x0021 and the nwkLogicalChannel is the 22th byte in _NIB data structure. You can  Monitor And Test API SYS_OSAL_NV_WRITE to revise the value of ID 0x0021 with offset 22 to set nwkLogicalChannel to what you want and reset CC2530 to make it change channel.

Where can I find the mapping of the _NIB structure? I want to read the nvram and check if the value is set correctly, but many values are displayed so I don't know what are the meaning of them.

I get NV_RAM_WRITE_RSP as success. Although all this nothing changes.

I suggest you to use Ztool to test this and make sure it works first.

I have a SonOff Dongle that has a CP210X Silicon Labs Bridge. It doesn't connect to ZTool due to this.

Are you sure the SonOff Dongle uses CC2530？

CC2562P with USBToUart Brdige of the Silicon Labs

the comment says it is non-settable. Does it mean it has some sort of writing protection?

No, my approach is to revise NV directly so you can change it anyway.

After checking CC26xx Z-Stack, I see the offset of nwkLogicalChannel is the same as CC253x Z-Stack which is 23th (offset is 0x22). I am not sure why it doesn't work on your SonOff  dongle. Can you try it with Ztool?

ZTool cannot be used with SonOff dongle. Still nothing. I'm sure that my code on writing to NVRAM works since I use it while creating the network.

Can you try to read value of NV ID 0x0021 with offset 22 back and check if it is the same value as channel you see?

The offset is 0x22 or 22? There is a difference between the two.

You mean writing to NVRAM with offset 22 the value 18 and then read back from offset 0?

It appears that you are attempting Network Manager operation which is supported in the ZNP software through the ZDO_MGMT_NWK_UPDATE_REQ MT API if MT_ZDO_MGMT is defined by the project (set by default).  Have you tried using this command?  Please note that ZDNwkMgr_ProcessMgmtNwkUpdateReq from zd_nwk_mgr.c shows the processing, including how the scan duration must be equal to 0xFE for a channel change.
