HI,

I have got new CC2530 ZNP MINI kit , In my application I want connect this USB dongle to the linux and receive the data on comport .

Is it possible mount this USB device to linux ..?

I have one more basic doubt .. since I just want to receive one node's temperature sensor data on receiver uart .

which application i should use ..? since it has two controllers ZigBee Network Processor and MSP430F2274 , which IAR I should use ..?

pls suggest .

I can partially answer your question. You will need IAR or another compiler for the MSP430. Unless you want to recompile the ZNP firmware, you can find the precompiled .hex files and load them with SmartRF Flash Programmer.

I think TI has drivers for the USB dongle that will allow what you want, but I don't know if they are for Linux.

You will only need the pre-compiled ZNP image for the CC2531, which is not in the mini-kit - you will need H/W like this:

Then to talk to the ZNP on the CC2531 across USB, you will need to compile your Linux kernal with support for the CDC class of USB - the CC2531ZNP will show up as a virtual COM port that you will open at 115200 baud, just like a serial port. More examples, actually a complete ZNP Host Application infrastructure are with those pre-compiled .hex images in the ZAP installer:

Hi Thanks for the reply ..

Still I have small doubt at the Cc2530 processor and msp430 processor .

Let me put what I have understood from the user guide and your reply .

1. CC2530 will have the zigbee stack (ZNP)

2. MSP430 will have the sensor related part , i.e all the sensor have connected to MSP430 and these sensors values will be given to the Cc2530 through SPI interface

3. Cc2530 will send these payload wirelessly using Zstack .

Doubts :

Can I modify the application layer of ZNP stack( payload at the node before sending ) ..?

Do I need to separately program the msp430 and cc2530 processor .. If yes , will this single USB Emulator Board is enough to program the two processors ..?

pls help
