Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK
Hello,
When can we expect a zigbee direct sdk? And also do we know which devices will it support?

Zigbee direct provides a more secure and convenient approach similar to Matter/Thread commission. This feature definitely attracts customers. Since Zigbee Alliance announced Zigbee direct and both CC26xx and CC13xx support multi-protocol as key feature, I suppose TI as a major player in Zigbee should be able support this soon. So, when is it will be available in TI Z-stack?
We are looking at not having a physical coordinator in our system while still being able to connect zstack 1.2.2a devices in the network
I think in the zigbee direct specification says that you can set up the zigbee virtual device as a coordinator
I am sorry. I meant to say gateway. So the idea is replacing the gateway with the zdd and zvd
Hi,

Thanks for sharing! In a way, the ZDD will act as a sort of "hub".
Once our devices/stack obtain Zigbee r23 certification, they will "play nice" with Zigbee Direct based devices.
Full feature Zigbee Direct is an optional extension to Zigbee r23, and a minimum support is required for Zigbee r23 (per the CSA FAQ YK mentioned).
Hi YK,
After we are done with r23, then Zigbee Direct becomes more of a possibility. For now, I cannot provide a timeline on this.
If you have any concerns on this, please reach out to me directly.
Thanks,
Toby
