Z-Stack 2.5.0 Will Not Install on Windows 7 PC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

I am attempting to install Z-Stack Version 2.5.0 in a Windows 7 PC (32-bit) and get this same error as described (e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/158/t/90597.aspx). Apparently Z-Stack 2.5.0 does NOT support Windows 7 as claimed in the verified answer? Is there a workaround? Most all of our development PCs run Windows 7. It's been out for plenty of time now and should be supported. Need to get this working!

  • Hi,

I've installed Z-Stack 2.5.0 on Win7 and it works fine.

You can try to run the installer in compatibility mode.

Right click on installer icon -> properties->compatibility->Win XP SP3 mode.

    Is this resolves your problem...

One more thing, may be your registry is locked and WinOS can not write to it,

if this is the case, perhaps you should ask your sys admin for a solution.

  • Thanks for a quick response!  Actually, when I looked at the properties window, it was set to "Windows Vista" compatibility mode and the selection was greyed out.  I had to select "Change Settings for all users" and then selected "Windows 7".  Then seemed to install fine.   Whew!  When I saw that other thread I thought for sure I had the same problem!

    Thanks!
