CC2530-based End Device loses association with Digi Gateway when power is interrupted

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530

Hi,

Some colleagues of mine have designed an End-device and Router module using the CC2530. They are using the Digi Connect Port X4 as the coordinator (gateway). When Initially installed, the system came up and worked as planned with routers and EDs reporting in correctly.

Sometime later power was interrupted to the Digi Gateway. When that Gateway came back up, it lost all associations with the end devices. It could still see the routers but not the EDs. The system integrator had to go to the facility and reboot every ED to get the system up and running again.

Is there some simple way the EDs can be made to periodically check for association and - if that's been lost - re-associate on their own? I've got to believe this is a solvable problem and/or there is something simple not being done correctly in the ED setup.

Certainly Zigbee Pro was designed to handle loss of power in the Gateway - right?

Thanks,
