Is there support for 802.15.4 MAC layer at 868MHz?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIMPLICITI

Hi,

We want a radio that can support the 802.15.4 MAC layer at 868MHz.

We've been looking at the CC1110 as this looks like it ought to have the hardware to do the trick, at least for 802.15.4g.  However, it lacks suitable firmware.

The CC1180 with the Sensinode 6LoWPAN stack (NanoStack 2.0 lite), appears to have the MAC layer we'd like.  Implying that such a beast is possible and exists.  However, the firmware also includes a stripped down 6LoWPAN stack on top of the MAC layer and it is locked down and not flexible enough for our needs.  We'd like to have the CC1110/CC1180 running just the MAC layer and run the rest of the stack on the MCU.

Are there any plans to support this scenario?  Or is it already supported?

Thanks,

Robbie.
