Difference between IEEE802.15.4 and non-IEEE802.15.4 packets?

Hi,

What is the difference between the IEEE802.15.4 and non-IEEE802.15.4 packet?

I could see a check box named "IEEE 802.15.4 Compliant" in the RFStudio for transmitting the packets in Hex or Text. The difference is in preamble  or CRC or anything other than these two?
