I was wondering if Router or Coordinator can go to sleep mode in Z-Stack implementation?

This is not a feature in any of the Z-Stack implementations. Since End Devices can wake up and poll for data at any time, a sleeping Parent device could cause a flood of netoerk reforming operations. It would be possible, though, to have a synchronized sleep for the entire network, but this would be an application level process.

FYI - Beaconed TI-MAC offers the ability for the entire network to synchronously sleep.

Hi,

I just wondering about Z-Stack and TI-MAC :

Z-Stack

- Mesh and star only non beacons

TI-MAC

- Star, peer to peer, Tree with beacons

Is it right?

And.. It would be possible to sychronize a mesh network without beacons using a time or date in the payload at application level process?

Which are the main differences between sleepping routers at application level process or in another layer? Is it possible to do with Z-STACK at application level? how?
