Confusion on Zigbee Cluster. Helpp

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hi Guys,

I am an absolute  beginner in Zigbee protocol. I am trying to develop a Home Automation System which I assume it will be best runing on Home Automation Profile. I understand there there are many types of Device ID supported in HA Profile e.g. On//Off Switch, On/Off Light, Remote Control, Dimmer Switch, Shade Controller, Thermostat, IAS Warning Device, etc.

Each of these device id type will have their own mandatory and optional Clusters. Each Cluster will have it's own set of attributes. I hope I am still saying the right thing up to this point.

Each Zigbee node will have mandatory endpoint 0. Other functional application will be running on the available 240 other endpoints. So here is my question

1) Is it true that each functional application will be runing on a single endpoint. E.g. On/Off Switch will be running on endpoint 10. In other words Endpoint 10 will only be used for On/Off Switch but not any other Device ID.

2) What if I have 10 switches in a single Zigbee Node. Do I have to have 10 endpoints each serving different switch.

3) Can I have multiple devices running on the same Node. E.g. Endpoint 100 - On//Off Switch, Endpoint 101 - Shade Controller, Endpoint 101- Thermostat etc.

4) Does all endpoint must have it's own Basic Cluster if we are to implement multiple endpoint.

Thanks

Hope my question make sense to any of you guys

Regards

Albert
