Hi,
I have an application that now runs on Zigbee 1.4.3. The application includes routers that will roam from one network to another. My experience with 2006 is when a router joins a network it uses one of the llimited parent router addresses. When that child router leaves the network the parent router doesn't get that address back to allocate to future future joining routers. In my applicatioin its not hard to use all the parent router addresses.
We are migrating to Zigbee Pro. I assume Zigbee Pro should get around this problem since it assigns addresses randomly.
Is this correct?
Thanks
Hi Jim,
The answer is yes and no. Yes, Zigbee PRO will make this easier for you and yes it uses random addressing.
However, I believe you will still need to implement a timeout or remove the binding table entries to be able to recycle an address.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Yoda
