CC2480 NOOB questions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hello,

I have some CC2480 NOOB questions and hope this is the correct area for this post.  I just got a eZ430-RF2480 Kit v1.1 and, as is my usual mode, am in a state of confusion.  I would like to use the kit with the Z-Stack 2.1.0 and the Smart Energy Profile.  What steps do I need to take to do this?

1) Is the latest 30 day eval for IAR EW for the TI MSP430 the correct dev toolset for the eZ430-RF2480 Kit?

2) How do I upgrade the kit for the latest Zigbee PRO Z-Stack 2.1.0 and Smart Energy?

3) Z-Stack downloads at the TI website seem to bee for the 2420, 3430.31 and 2520.  Which one do I download for testing with the 2480?

Thanks,

David

.

  • Hello Whistle,

    1) IAR has two eval versions. 1 with 30 days limit and the other with code size limit. The Zasa sample application uses the totality of the size of the size limited version. If you want to add code to this example, you have to use a size limit free version.

    2) The CC2480 includes the zigbee stack, and you haven't to install any Z-Stack. This is the reason Ti don't give a install for the CC2480 Z-stack.

    3) Look in the upper response (2) .

I hope, y have well response your questions. If you want the Zasa file, you have to install the Zasa file (http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/swrc097b) and you can find the source example code in the folders C:\Texas Instruments\eZ430-RF2480.

  •  AN and LPRF,

Thank you for information.  I'll check out those examples and ask less ridiculous questions in the future.

    Ciao,
