CC2590 and matching network

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2590, CC2530

Hi,

We will make a design with using both CC2530 and CC2590. In CC2590 specifications document it says it has an integrated balun, and as far as know CC2590 itself is a kind of matching network IC. However in sample designs there are matching networks or baluns on both sides(input and output of CC2590) of the chip. Isnt that a contradiction? Can someone please explain why should i add those matching networks to my design, and what will happen(like drop in signal quality) if i connect them directly without using these networks/baluns?

Thanks in advance.
