Hi,

I want to use a CC2531 USB dongle with PC software "Packet sniffer" » to keep on Zigbee network. I have installed PC software and USB dongle. But when i execute the PC software i have some errors messages (report below screen shoot).

I click on "start" and i have 3 errors messages display (see below):
I have executes the software with compatibilty « seven » and « windows XP (pack 3 et 2) » with the same errors.

OS : « windows seven ».

Driver dongle : « Cebal » (see below)

Do you have some ideas to correct this error ?

Hi,

This is related to two bugs in SmartRF Packet Sniffer 2.16.2. A new version of the SmartRF Packet Sniffer should be right around the corner, addressing these issues.

For Zigbee 2003/2006 you can fix the issue by simply going to "Select fields" (image in post below) and selecting a value in the empty drop-down boxes ("Payload format" and "LQI/RSSI"). This fixes a corrupt value in registry and should solve the two first warnings.

The last error is related to a parsing bug that appears for Zigbee 2007/PRO. A suggested workaround is described below (requires that you have administrator access):

Close the SmartRF Packet Sniffer
Browse to <install dir>\bin\general\plugin\zigbee
Make a backup of zigbee.plt
Open zigbee.plt and replace the "/" in "Zigbee 2007/PRO" to "_".
Save zigbee.plt and start the SmartRF Packet Snffer (IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee)
Selecting ZigBee 2007_PRO from the protocol dropdown should now work.

Hi,

I modify "Zigbee.plt" file and this has suppress one error message. But i don't understood your first response concerning "zigbee 2003/2006". Where i can find "Select field" ?
