Dynamically starting node as endpoint OR router based on Power source

Hi, is it possible to do this??

Would it make sense to compile and run all nodes as routers and disable the network routing feature on the nodes I choose to make an end point?  Can power saving features be enabled with an API?

It is not realistic to dynamically starting a node as ED or router. It will be impossible to manage a dynamical network topology like this. If you just want to make ED not to enter sleep mode if DC power is plugged, you can use "osal_pwrmgr_device( PWRMGR_ALWAYS_ON );" and "osal_pwrmgr_device( PWRMGR_BATTERY );" to switch the power management mode.

isn't zigbee dynamic in nature?  if some endpoints can't reach the coordinator and a router node is introduced, won't they use it to route the data back to the coord?

Yes, the mesh network of ZB is dynamic. However, this does not mean that you can switch a device role dynamically between ED and router.
