Problem connecting CC Debugger to CC2530

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530

Hello,

We have a fresh CC2530 and are trying to download code to it but CC Debugger can't seem to find the target.  The LED remains red even after reset.  We know that the CC Debugger is fine because it is able to connect to the ZNP Mini Dev board.  We have verified the following connections between CC Debugger and the CC2530:

  • Pin 1 is connected to GND
  • Pin 2 is connected to VCC
  • Pin 3 is connected to P2_2
  • Pin 4 is connected to P2_2
  • Pin 5 is connected to P1_4
  • Pin 6 is connected to P1_5
  • Pin 7 is connected to Reset via a series 2.7 kOhm resistor and 880 pF cap to ground
  • Pin 8 is connected to P1_6
  • Pin 9 is floating
  • Pin 10 is connected to P1_7
  • Decouple pin voltage is 1.8V; Rbias pin voltage is 1.24V
From what we can tell, the connections are fine.  A possibility is that the CC2530 itself isn't working. Is there an easy way to test this without having to replace the entire chip?
