wireless transmission using zigbee cc2531 usb dongle

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2531, CC2530, Z-STACK

I am doing a project on image based lighting control. In my project I am planning to incorporate wireless control between the pc and the light source(PWM controlled LED light source). I want to know how cc2531 usb dongle can be used to establish a wireless connection between the pc and the LED driver(I only want to transmit control signal for pwm generation to the LED driver ). Also I want to know what are the other requirements for this zigbee transmission system and can we connect cc2531 directly to the pc and transmit signal without the help of any other device.

  • To use zigbee network to server your purpose, you will need a coordinator (can be a cc2531 usb dongle ) and a zigbee end device (can be a CC2530 module) , which connects to your LED. I would suggest you to download and install ZStack. Read the documents and do some hands-on with the examples inside ZStack first.

  • Hi , ELDHO JACOB1 , YiKai

I am using ZStack-Lighting Kit and SampleRemote project, and I can connect to ZigBee Light Link by CC2531 USB Dongle.

I just start to try the PWM in CC2531.

How to transmit control signal for pwm generation to the LED driver ??

Does there has any documents about CC2531 PWM can reference ??

The datasheet says the Timer1 can use PWM , where can I set Timer1 for PWM in C:\Texas Instruments\Z-Stack Lighting 1.0.1\Projects\zstack\ZLL\SampleRemote\CC2530DB ??
