BTW, there should be explanation why z-stack does not work with version 8.30.

I suppose IAR should guarantee it is backward compatible but it seems not. I will try to contact IAR to see if there is any alternative or fix.

The problem is that EW8051 V8.30 uses lots of virtual registers V0-V31 but there is only one virtual register in EW8051 V8.20. You can follow the following steps to fix it.

1. Change number of virtual registers to 8.

2. Replace chipcon_cstartup.s51 with 3125.chipcon_cstartup.rar.

My Error still says:

Error[e46]: Undefined external "?V1" referred in AF ( C:\Texas Instruments\ZStack-CC2530-2.5.1a\Projects\zstack\Samples\SampleApp\CC2530DB\DemoEB\Obj\AF.r51 )

1 to 7 with the virtual register size to 8 and 1 to 17 with register size 16

I have tried the solutionsas per the screenshot provided by you. But i could not solve my problem of getting linker errors showing ?v1- V7. I tried even in zstack home 1.2. i finally want to downgrade my iar version. So,could you please re-upload the trail version of IAR V 8.20.

i want to clarify the Z-stack Home 1.2.0 has been released and product tested with IAR 8.20.2 IDE version.

This is what is stated in the Z-stack core and Z-stack home release note (available in the Z-stack install directory) and the main path we suggest our customers to take for their design. 

IAR update releases and Z-stack updates are not always in sync and this is the reason why you may find sometimes that our SW product have not been compiled with the latest IAR version.

As Yikai mentioned, and hereby mentioned here now, we worked with IAR to enable our customers to evaluate our SW products and earlier eval versions of IAR are available. Please use this link

This being said, if really you want to use the latest IAR version 8.30, the changes suggested in this post are a viable interim workaround, though probably not the final solution we are going to integrate.

We are of course going to migrate soon to the newest IAR version, as we want to maintain sync with all updates the IDE has but please understand sometimes the practicality of this to happen for all the platforms we have and the interim 'grace period' this entails.
