Flash programmer does not see cc2531 usb dongle

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2531, CC2530, CC2530EM

Hi,

I have been programming and using successfully cc2531 usb dongle for several weeks.

But since yesterday, flash programmer, RF packet sniffer and even IAR workbench do not see my dongle anymore. I tried to use another cc2531 usb dongle and the problem remains.

On the other hand, I have no problem using the same dongle (with program installed before yesterday) with my application, using usb and communicating succesfully with cc2530 end devices.

It seems that my problem is when I try to program its flash.

Just for information, the problem is only with cc2531 dongle. I can program cc2530EM without any difficulty.

Can anyone help me on that?

  • Do you try to reinstall SmartRF flash programmer? By the way, do you use the latest flash programmer which is version 1.12.7?

  • First of all, thank you for your help.

Yes I did reinstall flash programmer version 1.12.7 but problem remains.

Dongle appears in windows device manager as TI CC2531 Low-Power RF to USB CDC Serial Port with controller version 1.1.0.0 (date: 01-05-2009).

    Any idea?

  • Hi Hugo,

Is the problem attempting to reflash the CC2531? If so, please make sure that the CC Debugger and the CC2531 you are trying to reflash are not connected to the same USB hub. If possible power the CC2531 from another PC, at least another root HUB. Note that you can also power the CC2531 from the CC Debugger itself through the 10-pin debugger connection. To do so connect lines 2 and 9 on the 10-pin debug cable adapter which is inserted in the CC Debugger.
