TI-MAC and OSAL software license question

We have developed a software stack(6lowpan, IP, etc.) on top of TI-MAC and OSAL software and would like to re-distribute it. Surely, the software is operated on TI MSP 430 and cc2520 hardware.

Does it go against any license rules to freely distribute modified ti software included in our software stack?

Is the short comment in the beginning of each source file the only regulating instance, or there are other documents?

Hi,

when you install every TI-MAC, there's a click-through license that you accept on behalf of your company.

The End User License Agreement (EULA) is also present in the folder which has been selected as your install path.

Distribution license part is covered in section 1.2 of the above-mentioned EULA.

Hello, I am in the same team as Kiwoong. May us have some more clarification. As per this quote:

"1.2 Limited Distribution License. Subject to the terms of this Agreement, TI hereby grants to you for
the term of this Agreement, a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable, license to copy
and distribute the Licensed Materials, including portions thereof and any Licensed Material Revisions (as
defined in Section 1.3 below), provided that in each instance the Licensed Materials and Licensed Material
Revisions, are distributed solely and exclusively in an executable format embedded in your products and
such embedded Licensed Material and Licensed Material Revisions shall execute solely and exclusively in
conjunction with TI Devices and not with radio frequency devices manufactured by or for an entity other than
TI. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may not modify or further distribute or transfer any documentation
contained in or provided by TI with the Licensed Materials."

Does it mean the source cannot be redistributed and we have to provide its binary version (compiled version)?

Kiwoong,

we are also planning to used the CC2520 + MSP430xx controller. And we are planning to used TIMAC(IEEE 802.15.4) in it.

But did not get any sample source code for the TIMAC for CC2520 + MSP430xx controller. So if you have any example source can you please share us.

As I know, there was example for MSP430EXP5438+CC2520EM in TIMAC 1.5.0. However, there is no such example in latest TIMAC 1.5.2.

TIMAC 1.5.0 is not available from TI web site. You can try to send a friend request to TheDarkSide and see if he can help you.

Sorry, I cannot provide it to you. Why don't you use latest TIMAC 1.5.2?

As you mentioned TIMAC 1.5.2 version does not have example app for MSP430+CC2520.
So, i required TIMCA 1.5.0 version, in which i can get the sampler app for MSP430 + cc2520

Hi,
sorry for the delay of my answer.
Great job on running an IP stack on top of our TI-MAC. This is really great. First of all, yes you can re-distribute TI stack components freely as long as 1) they are running on TI micro-controllers and 2) they are in embedded executable format.
You can see the distribution rights in the EULA document that you can find on your TI-MAC SDK install.
We can provide you a 1.5.0 earlier version for your needs.
The procedure would be for you to get in contact with TI local representative and we can channel it through them.
If this is not working, please send me a private message on e2e specifying your region and whom you contact at TI.
