Support Documentation for EZ430-RF2480

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530

The support documentation (examples, how to reprogram MSP430) is really sub par to near nothing. All we have is to search through this forum and that really isn't helpful. Any chance that TI will be posting some how to guides anytime soon? Thanks.

  • TI claims that developing ZigBee network  with  CC2480 is so easy . But that is not so easy like TI said, TI's reference documentation and assistance provided too few, and not specific enough!

  • The successor to the CC2480 is coming out soon, it's the CC2530ZNP. Instead of a separate IC it's just a firmware image that you can load onto any CC2530 which is much better than the 2480 approach. There will be a little USB board like the ez430-RF2480 too, and a lot (20+) of examples, including simple link setup.

Programming the MSP430 on the ez430-RF2480 is the same as programming any MSP430, just setting the debug target to the ez430 board instead of a FET-UIF programmer or whatever.
