Z stack linux gateway

Hi,

Z-Stack Linux Gateway binaries are compiled for Beaglebone Black + CC2531 USB dongle.This release doesn't support packet sniffer. In order to use Gateway release, you will have to re-flash CC2531 dongle with the ZNP image (.hex) provided (please consult the included documents - user guide and beaglebone addendum).  You cannot use the binaries on saberlite .

 I dont mind using beagle bone, but before doing so, I would like to know whether the given code( zstack ) has the requirements I need. It would really help if you can give us the Z stack source code.

Note:   Is it possible for us to use the same z stack in ubuntu system.

binary code is released with click-through license agreement and is on the web.  Full source code is available upon signing a specific software license agreement with TI.

In order to start this, I would advise you contact your local TI representative.

Is there any special reason that you must use sniffer under ubuntu? To make yourself easier, I suggest you to use windows packet sniffer.

   We, basically, want to sniff packets on saberlite board using the CC2531 USB dongle and save the data of the packets. Unfortunately, we are unable to use Z stack linux gateway API over the saberlite board as we didnot have the binaries for it (binaries for beagle bone board are only available and we tried to reach out to TI for the source code but of no vail). So, we wanted to first try using the packet sniffer on ubuntu. We actually tried the packet sniffer of CC2531 in windows and it worked great. 

   Any suggestion regarding sniffing packets using CC2531 on saberlite board using any API (inc z stack gateway) are welcome

As i mentioned in my previous post, packet sniffer is not supported in current Gateway release - not even on beaglebone black + CC2531.

Nope.

However there is another way, you can use the sensniff project, along with Contiki-os cc2531 sniffer project.

For your convenience I've attached the sniffer.hex file (compiled by me on instant Contiki machine, a big thanks goes to Contiki folks).

After you flash your cc2531 dongle with this FW, it will be recognized as ACM device. Good luck.
