Reg: Zigbee with mesh network

Dear Chen,,

             I need a low cost zigbee or RF or any other wireless to make it work as a mesh network and with high reliability and standard,

Kindly suggest me one, and please provide the methods, sample code and exact spec.

Six months almost I have tried with different RF's and everything was a failure. Am struggling to go forward with it.

             i have started working with cc2530. I have ordered for cc2530 and CC debugger. The links are "http://www.sunrom.com/523 & http://www.sunrom.com/522" . This is the person who supplies in India and I will be getting quick delivery. 

Kindly confirm with it. 

For compiler, should i go with IAR embedded workbench or any other you would suggest. If so kindly send me the link with version details

Z stack for cc2530 i am not able to download. Can you put it in any drive and share the link.

1. For CC2530 HW, I suggest you buy CC2530ZDK from TI.

2. You can go to http://www.iar.com/Products/Wireless-solutions/Tools-for-TI-wireless/ and download IAR 8.20 for Z-Stack Home 1.2

   The following cc2530 zigbee module i have purchased is  http://sunrom.com/523. I have fused serial app but i couldn't run it. I want to know which pins in cc2530 are mapped with joystick direction. For eg: It is mentioned

Sw1 = up, but it is not mentioned which pin is associated with Sw1. Hope i have made it clear.

Kindly tell which pin is mapped with the switches.

Also please send sample programs to transmit and receive serial data without using any switches or joystick. 

I dont want to go with cc2530zdk. I will be comfortable enough with this module that i have mentioned in the link as it is affordable for me to buy. Kindly solve my above queries so that i could move ahead Chen

The joystick doesn't use GPI. It uses ADC reading to tell UP/LEFT/DOWN/RIGHT. I would suggest you to have a look at SW_6 (hal_key.c) which uses P0.1 as GPI to trigger interrupt. You can use SW_6 as an example to implement other GPI for SW_1/SW_2/SW_3/SW_4/SW_5

I don't know which GPI you use on your EVB so I don't know how to help. I still suggest you study hal_key.c and try to revise it based on your own HW configuration.

    I have successfully established the communication using sample app. But i am not able to receive message in uart.

1. The configuration of UART what i made is shown below:

As per your suggestion I have used the sample applications provided in Zsatck Home and Zstack.

Now I am working on integrating a Temperature sensor with I2C, since CC2530 is not provided with I2C in H/W level, 

I have used hal_i2c.c and hal_i2c.h, which are available in RemoTi under CC2530EB_NPI along with the sampleApp application.

Initially to start I started with a simple code,I have used P1.6 as the SCL and P0.0 as the SDA

I suggest you to check SCL and SDA by scope. Make sure SCL is correct first.

SCL looks OK but why is there no signal on SDA?

I have found the problem on my SDA and now I can read both the SCL and SDA on my Scope. My slave device address is 0x48, slave addressed by a master receiver transfer acknowledges the address byte and starts to send its data, but all data bytes it sends are always 0xFF.

Where can it possible be wrong, need your help in solving this problem sir.

Your I2C signals looks good now. Do you check the pwer on your slave device is no problem?

Sorry for the delay in my response, the power to my slave device is good. But still the problem is exiting, can't read the data from the slave. Data from slave is always 0xFF, 0xFF.

HI Gowtham,

I suggest you connect your temperature sensor with I2C to a. workable host first, and make sure it works fine. Send the same I2C signal and capture signal by scope to compare. By the way, would you tell me which temperature sensor you use? Maybe I will have some clues from its data sheet.

As per you suggestion I have checked the temperature sensor with CC430 module and it worked fine. But unfortunately I dint not capture the signals on a scope. The temperature sensor that I am using is MAX6634. I have also attached the corresponding data sheet.

You can check LCD driver which uses SPI interface as your example.

Do you mean to use GPI on CC2530?

I see that your SPI_TX_Data source code is copied from my replies of another thread so it is no problem. When you use it, do you see SPI clock?

Application need:

Only bluetooth and mobile communication. No mesh network formation needed.

Also suggest a low cost WiFi in which i need to work on mesh network and smart phone connectivity.  WiFi must be available regularly and of low cost.

1. I don't know any WiFi chip that supports mesh network. However, I don't think this is related to WiFi chip. Mesh capability is about SW and I don't have experience on WiFI mesh. For the range of CC3200, it depends on Antenna design a lot. In general, it should be no problem to have 30-50 meters transmitting distance in line-of-sight test.

2. You can connect CC3200 to CC2530 coordinator and let CC3200 to bright Zigbee message to internet. Or, you can refer to Z-Stack Linux Home GW reference design.
