Does EVM430-F6736 smart meter support 6LoWPAN stack and IPv6 protocol?

  • Hi,

the board you are mentioning in the link above does not support RF socket.

For a smart meter board design with RF connection, please check this out:

    http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDM-SMARTMETERBOARD3

The board is provisioned with a socket for plugging one of the CC253x family, which integrates an 802.15.4 radio that can be used in 6LoWPAN. For instance, you could plug a CC2538 SoC.

So it is technically feasible to use this board design and get a 6LoWPAN stack running on CC2538, with a host SW running on the MSP430 driving it.

Contiki open source 6LoWPAN stack is supported on CC2538 (https://github.com/contiki-os/contiki/tree/master/platform/cc2538dk)

This platform is developed and maintained by the Contiki community.

    Thanks,
