Custom data through ZigBee

Hello All,

I am new to ZigBee and would want to send custom data (currently inventory count) from an ZigBee device through ZigBee mesh network to the gateway device. Would like to know the following,

1. I assume I should not be using standard public application profile like home automation for this.

2. In that case which profile, cluster should I use.

3. What are the Zigbee chips available for the same.

1&2.Since you don't want to use standard application profile, you can define your own cluster to serve your purpose.

3. CC2530 should be good enough for your application.

Thanks for the quick reply.

What profile id should I have to pass to send the packets in that case. Could you suggest me an link where I could go through to understand how do I define and create my own cluster or are there any samples which I could walk through to understand more on the same

Also, would this become an manufacturer specific cluster

You may try the' GenericApp' or 'SerialApp' demos provided in 'ZStack-CC2530-2.5.1a'.
