How Zigbee HA certified manufacturer product which is not known PAN-ID before got the PAN-ID hen brought in HA network.

Dear All,


                            I am actually using Zigbee HA profile.  I have coordinator with PAN-ID 0x2100.

                         On power up, router(light device) start scan & connect with coordinator having 0x2100 pan id.

                         I want to know when i brought third party device( ie. light-switch) from available  Zigbee HA certified    product manufacturer, then how third party device get PAN-ID as  third party device is not known PAN id before ,how it is connect to co-ordinator by scanning.

                         I have studied  that commissioning method is used to connect light-switch to coordinator & router, but what is the PAN-D of third party device,how third party device found the PAN-ID to connect in existing network.

                        What is the procedure for third party device to know PAN-ID, explain me in detail i want exact solution.

    3rd party device should have a factory reset mechanism. After you do reset, the device will start beacon. If your Zigbee network permits device association, the device can associate to ZC or ZR no matter what PANID is.

    Thanks for your reply, but there is still query arise.

    As in your reply it is mention that 3rd party device can associate to ZC or ZR no matter what PAN-ID is.

    For eg. if there is ZC1,ZC2 & ZC3 and as u have said that third party device has reset mechanism.

    Then how third party device come to know to connect with which Coordinator from available ZC1,ZC2 & ZC3.

    Is there any specific parameter which make user confirm that device connect to any ZC in single NW cannot connect or conflict with another nearby ZC operating  in different NW, then inform me about those parameter of Zigbee.

    Basically, ZED joins one of ZC1, ZC2, ZC3 according to the beacon response. In real application, I would suggest you disable permit join on ZC. Only enable permit join on specified ZC that allows association at a specified time. In this way, ZED will only be responded by specific ZC and won't join wrong network.

    In Zigbee system for secured connection PAN-ID is specific due to which ZR or ZED connect with ZC is not conflict with anoother ZC.

    As this is not exact solution which i required.
    I want to know that How third party device come to know based on whom device have to connect to ZC. Instead of PAN-ID there is no any base as i know. Explain me in detail

    When a ZED joins your Zigbee network, it will broadcast a end node announcement message in which there are its network and IEEE address included. You can request active end point first and simple descriptor to know what this ZED is. Also, you can request the Manufacturer Name in basic cluster to help you verify who manufacture this ZED.
