I'm looking for a simple, battery operated, wireless sensor network (i2c interface). What is the easiest solution without/limited device programming. I already looked at Bluetooth, but that is limited to 6 devices.

Any suggestion.

What do you mean the easiest solution without/limited device programming? Zigbee is a good choice but you have to deal with Z-Stack.

I don't want to setup an other tool-chain. So I like something like a hardware solution only. And any configuration is done from the host. I searched for it but didn't find it so. Maybe it is a bit ambitiously.

Yes, it is very ambitious. As I know, you might not find this. Zigbee is a good solution for you but you have to do some software stuff.
