how can we handle multiple end points in zigbee access point?????

Hi,

I am new to this zigbee PRO module..I am working to control multiple end points (1.simple metering ,2.OTA, 3.Light Lamp, 4.Level control color light) in a single node through zigbee access point (or zigbee gateway).

i am having multiple nodes with multiple endpoints (or clusters).in this case how can i control the particular device in the node.how can i get the end point of the particular cluster command from the node..

You can use ZDP_ActiveEPReq to request active endpoint and use ZDP_SimpleDescReq to request simple descriptor on each active endpoint.

thanx for the quick reply ...

thats fine Yikai..i am sending Simple_desc_req by that i am able to maintain endpoint table..but the issue is if i maintain like that then it is taking more RAM..so with out maintian any table can we control the endpoint.

by any device id or cluster id can we doo???

If you don't maintain the table, how can you know which cluster mapping to which active endpoint when you want to send command? Anyway, you can send zcl command with short address and specific endpoint. For example, API zclGeneral_SendOnOff_CmdToggle() only need you to input destination address and enpoint.

Ya right..So is their any possible to maintain only single end point in the node side..So that we can easily control the endpoint..

Endpoint and its simple description are very fundamental information of a node. If you need to control them from coordinator, I think you have to reserve RAM/FLASH to keep these information.

ya thanx for the replies yikai....

One more clarification ..shall i reduce the number of endpoints in the node side..For example in the sample_light application (zstack 1.2.1) we have two endpoints one for light and another for OTA .handling 2 endpoints is not a big issue but if we would like to add more application (eg metering) with the same node then endpoint will increase so can we dump this application in the existing light endpoint (instead of making one more endpont)???

You don't have to use so many endpoints on a node. You can support multiple clusters in one endpoint.

hi i have one more issue..

I want to confirm that still the end_device/router is active state..how can i check this from co-ordinator..do i need to go for any polling method ?? or can do anything with link state message??

You can send identify command to end device or router. If there is identify command response, it is active state.
